Jeff Crilley…You Rock!!

Jeff Crilley rocks!!  If you don’t know who Jeff is, then you are missing out.  Jeff is a PR maniac!  He tells you how to get FREE publicity like only an insider could do. Yes, you heard me right FREE.  How can he do that?

First, let me tell you how I became of Jeff.  I met him several years ago when I was Executive Director of Leads Club in the DFW region.  At the time Jeff was a Fox 4 News reporter (Emmy award winning reporter no less!)  I went to a business convention sponsored by a local county and he was a guest speaker.  I was amazed at the information he had to share.

Jeff had written a book called “Free Publicity”. Jeff had realized that so many great stories were being overlooked because the average person didn’t know how to work the system. So he choose to write a book to help those small businesses or individuals who just didn’t have the savvy to get free publicity.

Jeff became well known on the speaker circuit in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Since he was working for Fox he couldn’t charge to speak (which was cool)  but he could offer his book for sale sat these meetings. I bought one immediately (under $15.00)  It’s an easy read with lots of great advice and insider information. And his humor definitely keeps you interested.

The best part are his presentations at these events.  He is a tremendous speaker and will keep you in stitches, while at the same time teaching you the tricks of free PR.  I have heard him speak many times since then and it never gets old. He’s always got new tips he’s willing to share.

A couple of years ago he became part of a monthly networking group in Dallas designed to help people get this free PR that is out there.  He invites on-air personalities from various TV and radio stations in the DFW region to participate.  It is a never ending fountain of information each month. And he doesn’t limit the speakers to just on-air personalities.  For example, today we were lucky enough to have Shama Hyder as a guest speaker talking about her passion…social media.  That’s another post, probably tomorrow but I have to say she was great!

Last year Jeff decided to leave Fox 4 and open his own PR firm, RealNews PR. And he staffed it with a team of other seasoned journalists to make it the only PR firm in the USA to do so. But…even though he has his own firm now he still speaks at no charge to groups who request him.

If you are in the DFW area check to see if he is scheduled to speak….you won’t be sorry. If you can’t hear him, be sure to buy his book.  It will be the best $10.00 you’ll ever spend.
